A Long Body, Straight Lines, and Subtle Exterior Changes
At almost 16 feet in length, one of the signature trademarks of the 2017 GTC is its long body with straight exterior lines. This is a substantial vehicle that carries its weight well. The 2017 Bentley GTC seems to appear just a bit more menacing in darker colors which also seems to accent its muscular stance. Exterior updates have been kept to a minimum. Side vents have been added to the rear bumper, the trunk lid includes an integrated spoiler, and the wheels have been updated to be more contemporary. The front grill and bumper have been slightly modified. What remains are the distinctive rear wheel hips that have given this Bentley “ready to pounce” appearance.
Owners love the ease of the automatic drop-top that opens and closes at the push of a button and neatly stows in an inconspicuous compartment behind the rear seats. It is worthwhile to notice how the thickness of the convertible top helps insulate passengers from outside noise.
Overall, exterior changes have been minimal. Those who want more dramatic modifications will have to wait. Those who love the proven styling of the 2017 Bentley GTC will want to make a decision to snap one up soon.
A Luxurious Interior You Would Expect
If anything, Bentley is known for two things; luxury and choice. The 2017 Bentley GTC offers both and does it in spades. This Bentley makes sure both driver and front passengers have generous head, leg, and shoulder room while rear passengers will find space just a bit cozier. Everyone appreciates the thick, leather-wrapped seats. Speaking of choices, the automaker lets you select from 17 different colors and styles of leather. The interior uses natural woods and wood veneers masterfully and the dashboard is laid out efficiently. Expectations run high for Bentley.
From Here to There…in a Hurry
You’ll find the 2017 Bentley GTC available in four trims including V8, V8S, W12, and Speed. A 4.0 liter twin-turbo 8-cylinder engine powers the V8 and V8S. When combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission the V8 delivers 500 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. The V8S performs slightly better at 520 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Step up to the W12 and experience 582 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque with the Speed producing an impressive 633 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. How does this translate into 0-60 times?
- V8 – 4.7 seconds
- V8S- 4.5 seconds
- W12 – 4.4 seconds
- Speed- 4.0 seconds
It seems a shame to be in such a hurry when surrounded by such luxury and comfort.
While some Bentley and GTC fans may be awaiting the next reincarnation, the 2017 edition still has much to offer. It has proven good looks, established power, and legendary luxury and comfort. Why wait?
